Pepin Suter, Founder
🧑💼 Role at How It Works Sober Living
Pepin Suter is the Founder and Executive Director of How It Works Sober Living (HIWSL). He leads the organization with a hands-on approach, drawing from both personal recovery experience and professional business operations.
🌱 Background and Lived Experience
Pepin brings over seven years of personal experience in addiction recovery, which directly informs the philosophy and structure of HIWSL. His recovery journey and time spent in sober living helped shape the organization’s core values of structure, SMART goal-setting, peer accountability, and 12-step engagement.
🛠️ Professional Leadership
In addition to founding HIWSL, Pepin owns and operates a successful remodeling and construction business, where he employs individuals in recovery. This dual role strengthens HIWSL’s mission by offering stable employment opportunities for residents as part of their reintegration process.
📋 Duties and Engagement
Pepin maintains active involvement in the daily operations:
- Meets weekly with residents to assist in setting SMART goals.
- Oversees adherence to the 12-step program, including sponsor relationships and recovery meeting attendance.
- Promotes a culture of accountability and peer mentorship, which contributes to the program’s high retention and long-term recovery success.
